Introduction:

Kevin Durant is a popular figure in the National Basketball Association league. He played one season of college basketball for the University of Texas and was selected afterwards as a second overall pick for the team Seattle Subsonics.

Giant Kevin Durant is 6'10'' tall, which goes to approx 2.08 meters and the primary position he plays at is small forward. His overall career average includes about 27.1 points, 3.9 assists and 7.1 rebounds. Kevin has been titled as one of the best NBA players of all times. Moreover, he has also received all types of NBA honours for eight times and also won the title of Rookie of the season on his debut.

Durant got his MVP that is the most valuable player award. Durant was selected as the second in the three-time voting, which was somewhat frustrating to him. Early Life:

Kevin was born on September 29th, 1988, in the city of Washington, D.C. His parents were Wanda Durant and Wayne Pratt. When Durant was a baby, his father abandoned the family, which, as a consequence, led to the divorce between Wanda and Wayne. Durant's grandmother Barbara Davis helped to raise Kevin. By the age of just 13 years, his father re-entered his life and travelled the country with him to numerous basketball tournaments. Durant siblings include a sister Brianna, and two of his brothers, Tony and Rayvonne.

Durant and his siblings were brought up in Prince George's County, Maryland, which lied on the eastern outskirts of Washington, D.C. He got his unusually tall height at a very young age and reached almost 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m) in height during his middle school at the age of just 13–14 years. As Durant was growing up, he had this desire to play for his favourite team, that is "the Toronto Raptors," which also had his favourite player, Vince Carter. He played joined and played for Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball various teams in the Maryland area and was also the teammates with future NBA players Michael Beasley, Ty Lawson, Greivis Vásquez. These were the first players of whom Durant continues the friendship with to this day. During this time, he started wearing number 35 as his jersey number, which was an honour of his AAU coach. After playing direct for two years of high school basketball at National Christian Academy and then another year at Oak Hill Academy, Durant moved to Montrose Christian School for his senior year, growing even taller to 5 inches (13 cm) before the commencement of the season and opening the year. He reached almost 6 ft 7 inches which was practically equivalent to 2.01 m. Before the commencement of the season, he committed to play for the University of Texas. Finally, at the end of the year, he was titled as the Washington Post All-Met Basketball Player of the Year. Moreover, he was also given the title of Most Valuable Player of the year 2006 McDonald's All-American Game. He was popularly viewed as the second-best high school prospect of 2006.

For the year and college season of 2006–07, Durant—who had risen to 6 ft 9 inches, which was about 2.06 m, scored an average of 25.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game for his team, Texas Longhorns as a student in the University of Texas. His team ended the year with a 25–10 record overall and a 12–4 record in conference.

Awarded the fourth roots in the NCAA Tournament, Texas were able to grab their first-round match-up against New Mexico State but were disappointed after the second round by USC. Durant did a fabulous job of scoring a 30-point and 9-rebound performance. For his outstanding play, Durant was acknowledged as the unanimous national player of the year, accomplishing the John R. Wooden Award, and then the Naismith College Player of the Year Award, and finally all the eight other universally recognized honours and awards. This gave Durant the recognition of the first freshman to get any of the national players of the year awards. Career:
